Your SST6 Questions
Who is SST6 designed for?
SST6 is designed for current Year 5 students preparing for Year 7 scholarship and accelerated learning program entry. The course name is not the school entry year.
Is this the same as Year 9 selective school preparation?
No. Year 7 accelerated programs, including SEAL and other school-specific programs, are different from Year 9 entry to Victoria’s four selective entry high schools. Top Scope offers SST8 for the later pathway.
How does SST6 differ from ALC?
ALC develops broader academic foundations across primary and secondary learning. SST6 focuses on preparation for relevant entrance assessments through targeted practice, mock tests and feedback.
How often do students practise and receive feedback?
The SST6 program includes weekly writing practice and mock tests every second week in class. Students receive individualised reports after mock exams, with consultation to help families understand progress.
Which examination formats are covered?
The program uses practice papers covering Edutest, ACER and AAS examination formats. Requirements vary between schools and assessments; check the official information for your target school.
When should we start preparing?
Plan ahead of the intended school entry year. Contact Top Scope early to discuss your child’s current level and target schools, rather than waiting until applications close.
